Helping A Good Cause
Hi everybody,
This post will be a bit different than normal but nonetheless not less important. Chris and I have been busy creating this food package. You might think, a food package for what? Well this food package will go to the people in Simbrias, Romania. We’re working together with this good cause called Eijsden helpt Simbrias, which means Eijsden helps Simbrias.
A lot of people who’ve been working with this good cause have been collecting clothes, bicycles, toys and food packages. Why did they started doing this? Well for us it sort of became normal to receive Christmas presents but over there it’s not. The people in Simbrias are poor and sometimes have to go through a month with just 20 euros. This not much and so to help them and show them they’re not alone, they send these packages with food, clothes, toys and you name it.
Now this is the first time Chris and I joined them and so it wasn’t easy to buy stuff for our food package. It was probably because I was thinking too much about what to give them. I was afraid I bought to much candy and not enough normal products but Chris and I found a nice balance where we bought canned goods like corn, beans, tomato sauce as well as jam, cookies and candy. We also left a Christmas card in the box and we hope they receive it and enjoy it.
This is a small act of kindness which will leave a big impact on those who need this the most.
My grandparents have been doing this for more than 10 years and they inspired Chris and I to join them with this good cause. Hopefully we can inspire other people as well. Christmas is not only about receiving gifts and being with family, I think it’s also about thinking about others and being kind to one another. Want more information on Eijsden helps Simbrias?
